Please read these Terms of Service carefully before booking an appointment, purchasing a product, or using our website. By accessing our Site or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Client," "you," or "your") and High Brow Society, a Michigan-based beauty studio owned and operated by Shaylyn Frank and Paige Frank, located at 28860 Southfield Rd., STE 203, Lathrup Village, MI 48076 ("High Brow Society," "we," "us," or "our").

These Terms govern your use of our website at highbrowsociety.com, our third-party booking platforms, and all services provided at our studio or delivered remotely (including custom press-on nail sets). These Terms apply to all visitors, clients, and others who access or use our services.

Our Book Now Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our services, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.

2. Our Services

High Brow Society offers the following professional beauty services, provided by state-licensed professionals:

Natural Sugaring Services (Shaylyn Frank — Licensed Esthetician)

Nail Services (Paige Frank — Licensed Nail Technician)

We reserve the right to refuse service to any individual at our professional discretion, including but not limited to instances involving health contraindications, unsafe conditions, or disrespectful behavior toward our staff.

3. Appointments & Booking Policy

Booking

Appointments with Shaylyn Frank (sugaring services) may be booked online at shaytheestheticiann.as.me. Appointments with Paige Frank (nail services) may currently be booked by calling or texting 248.208.5432. Online booking for nail services will be available soon.

Confirmation

Your appointment is confirmed once you receive a booking confirmation via email or text. We recommend arriving 5–10 minutes early for your first appointment to allow time for intake and consultation.

Late Arrivals

We understand that life happens. However, arriving more than 15 minutes late may result in a shortened service time or, if necessary, rescheduling of your appointment. Our professionals work back-to-back appointments and late arrivals affect other clients. A late arrival does not entitle you to a refund of any booking deposit.

Sugaring Prep Requirements

For sugaring services, hair must be a minimum of 1/4 inch in length (approximately 2–3 weeks of growth after shaving) for optimal results. Arriving without adequate hair growth may result in a service adjustment or rescheduling. Please exfoliate and avoid heavy lotions or oils on the area for 24 hours before your appointment.

4. Cancellation & No-Show Policy

We ask for a minimum of 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule any appointment. This allows us to offer the time slot to another client on our waitlist.

Cancellations with 24+ Hours Notice

Cancellations made at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time will not be charged an additional cancellation fee. Please note that all booking deposits are non-refundable; however, your deposit may be applied toward a rescheduled appointment if you cancel with adequate notice and reschedule within a reasonable time frame.

Late Cancellations (Less Than 24 Hours)

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your appointment may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the scheduled service price. This fee compensates our licensed professionals for their reserved time.

No-Shows

Clients who do not show up for a scheduled appointment without any notice ("no-shows") may be charged up to 100% of the booked service price. Repeat no-shows may result in a requirement for full prepayment for future bookings, or refusal of future bookings at our discretion.

Emergencies

We understand that genuine emergencies occur. Please contact us as soon as possible at 248.763.1937 or 248.208.5432 and we will do our best to accommodate your situation on a case-by-case basis.

5. Payments, Pricing & Refunds

Pricing

All service prices listed on our website are starting prices and may vary based on the complexity, time, or specifics of your service. Final pricing will be communicated at or before the time of your appointment. We reserve the right to update pricing at any time; updated prices will be reflected on our website.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept major credit and debit cards, cash, and other payment methods as posted at our studio. Gratuity is not included in service prices but is always appreciated by our licensed professionals.

Deposits

A non-refundable $25 deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm all appointments. This deposit is applied toward your total service cost. By paying the deposit, you acknowledge and agree that it will not be returned under any circumstances, including cancellation. If you cancel with 24+ hours notice, your deposit may be applied to a rescheduled appointment.

Refunds

Due to the personal nature of beauty services, we generally do not issue refunds for completed services. If you are dissatisfied with a service, please contact us within 48 hours and we will do our best to address your concern, including offering a complimentary adjustment appointment at our discretion.

Refunds for custom press-on nail sets are governed by Section 6 below.

6. Custom Press-On Nail Orders

Custom press-on nail sets are hand-crafted to your individual nail measurements and design specifications. Because each set is made to order, the following terms apply:

Order Process

Orders are initiated by contacting Paige Frank at 248.208.5432 or at the studio. You will provide your nail measurements (using a sizing kit if ordering remotely), design preferences, shape, length, and any inspiration images. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the order total is required to begin production.

Production Timeline

Custom sets typically require 5–14 business days for production, depending on design complexity and current order volume. Rush orders may be accommodated at an additional fee.

Returns & Exchanges

Because custom sets are made to your exact specifications, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges on completed orders. If there is a quality defect or error on our part (e.g., incorrect sizing based on measurements you provided correctly, or a design significantly different from what was agreed), we will remake the set at no additional charge.

We are not responsible for sets that do not fit due to inaccurate measurements provided by the client, or for damage caused by improper application or removal.

Shipping

For orders shipped outside the studio, shipping costs are the client's responsibility unless otherwise agreed. High Brow Society is not responsible for orders lost or delayed due to carrier error once a tracking number has been provided.

7. Health, Safety & Consent

Health Disclosures

It is your responsibility to inform your service provider of any known skin conditions, allergies, medications, health conditions, or recent procedures that may affect your service or safety. This includes but is not limited to: eczema, psoriasis, active breakouts, sunburn, recent laser treatments, blood thinners, diabetes, or pregnancy.

Contraindications

Certain health conditions may make specific services inadvisable or unsafe. Our licensed professionals may decline to perform a service if they determine a contraindication exists that could cause harm. This is done for your safety and is not grounds for a refund if we are not informed of a condition prior to the appointment.

Informed Consent

By booking an appointment, you acknowledge that you have been given the opportunity to disclose relevant health information and that you consent to the service as described. You understand that temporary redness, sensitivity, or skin reaction may occur following sugaring or nail services, and that our professionals will advise you on aftercare to minimize any discomfort.

Minors

Clients under the age of 18 require written consent from a parent or legal guardian prior to receiving any service. A parent or guardian must be present at the studio or reachable by phone during the appointment.

8. Client Conduct

High Brow Society is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for all clients and staff. We expect all clients to treat our team and other clients with dignity and respect.

We reserve the right to immediately terminate a service and ask a client to leave our studio without refund if the client:

Clients who are removed for conduct violations will be banned from future bookings at our sole discretion.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including the High Brow Society name, logo, written content, photography, nail art designs, and service descriptions — is the exclusive intellectual property of High Brow Society and its owners, protected under United States copyright and trademark law.

You may not reproduce, distribute, republish, or commercially exploit any content from this Site without our prior written permission. You may share our content on social media for non-commercial purposes, provided you credit High Brow Society.

Before/after photos and nail art photos featuring client work remain the property of High Brow Society unless otherwise agreed in writing. We will always obtain your permission before posting any photo in which you are identifiable.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our website and services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

Results from sugaring and nail services may vary based on individual skin type, hair type, nail condition, and aftercare practices. We make no guarantees regarding specific outcomes.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Michigan law, High Brow Society, its owners, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services or website, including but not limited to:

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Michigan law.

12. Governing Law — Michigan

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Applicable Michigan statutes include, but are not limited to:

Any legal action arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Oakland County, Michigan, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

13. Dispute Resolution

We believe most disputes can be resolved through open communication. If you have a concern about a service, product, or experience with High Brow Society, please contact us first:

We will make a genuine effort to resolve your concern within 10 business days of contact.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may pursue resolution through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) or small claims court in Oakland County, Michigan, for claims not exceeding Michigan's small claims limit. You retain all rights available to you under the Michigan Consumer Protection Act.

These Terms do not require mandatory arbitration. You retain your right to access Michigan courts.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When changes are made, we will:
